The honeyed aromas of melted beeswax fill the studio. Over the last 6 years Emily has developed a technique playing upon the ancient Egyptians encaustic method used to create death masks. She sculpts, etches and buffs oil paint into the beeswax, trapping and exposing forgotten layers as she does so, creating an unpredictability that gives the waxy paintings a greater depth and a life of their own.

Emily is currently working towards a large solo show in May 2017. If you would like to be on her mailing list and invited to the Private View then please send her a message.
